“Telling Stories, Not Snories: How to Inspire Action, Connection, and Confidence Through Storytelling”

“Every interaction is an opportunity to make someone feel a certain way.”

1. Your Stories Are Your Superpower
You don’t need square footage, room counts, or renovation dates to make an impression. You need:

  • Sandra, who anticipated coffee and sweet baskets.
  • Kenya, who puts love into every pizza.
  • Ronnie, who had a country song written about his front desk service.
  • Patrick, who teaches guests to fish like locals in Islamorada.

Reminder to you: Think: “What’s not Google-able but is Instagram-able?”

2. CRISP Storytelling Framework
Use the CRISP method to craft memorable, impactful stories:

  • C – Customized: Tailor stories to your audience. (Customer ≠ Stakeholder ≠ Team)
  • R – Real: Make it relatable and authentic.
  • I – Impactful: Share the details that truly matter and resonate.
  • S – Stand out: Make it memorable, not generic.
  • P – Prepared: Know your story, own it, and deliver it with confidence.

Action: Try using stories in ownership updates, team meetings, and client conversations. Replace “Here’s our stats” with “Let me tell you a story…”

3. Tech Can Help — But Heart Leads
You modeled how to use tools like:

  • ChatGPT (to synthesize team surveys and prep messaging),
  • Napkin.AI (for creative visuals),
  • Pictory.AI (to turn site visits into engaging recap videos),
  • Fathom.AI (to capture and summarize meetings with full attention).

Technology is your assistant. Empathy is your advantage.

4. Make People Feel Something
Use stories to make them feel:

  • Confident
  • Inspired
  • Empowered
  • Appreciated

Gratitude stones became your signature — honoring those who most people don’t, but they do.

5. “You’re Doing Great.”
The most human and healing phrase of the keynote.
Bart closed with the emotional story of Ben, the student who needed to hear it and didn’t hear it at home. Bart's commitment to remind him (and all of us) that we’re doing great became a defining moment of connection.

When you get back, tell your team.

  • Tell your clients.
  • Tell your family.
  • “You’re doing great.”

And if they need to hear it again, tell them again. You will.

Davidson Team,

Thank you for the opportunity to speak with you. I hope the stories, smiles, and stones stick with you. Remember:

  • Every interaction is a chance to make someone feel something.
  • Use CRISP to tell stories that connect.
  • And if no one has told you lately — you’re doing great.

I’m here if you ever want to keep the conversation going. Keep telling stories, not snories.

You're DOING GREAT!
